This uniform was worn by an Irish Volunteer at Jacob’s Biscuit Factory. Around 150 rebels were based at this garrison which was occupied by the Irish Volunteers on 24th April. The uniform was left behind after surrender of the Garrison on Sunday, 30th April. The uniform coat has five brass buttons each bearing the Irish Brian Boru harp. Members of the Irish Volunteers and the Irish Citizen Army would also have worn bandoliers with pouches for ammunition.
