This flag was flown by the Irish Citizen Army over the Imperial Hotel in Sackville Street (now O’Connell Street). There are bullet holes on the flag from .303 calibre British Army rifles used during the Easter Rising. The flag had originally a gilt fringe and shows a yellow plough and seven silver stars, which are outlined in dark blue on a green field. The image represents the star constellation Ursa Major (the Great Bear or Plough).
