This Irish flag was owned by revolutionary John Daly (1845-1916, b. in Limerick). A gold harp with five strings forms the centre-piece of the green flag. On an envelope, which has been attached to one of the corners, is a handwritten note signed by British Army Lieutenant Colonel A.A. Weldon. He stated that this “flag was taken from the house of the celebrated John Daly, Limerick”, when it was searched by British troops during the Easter Rising.
