Charred remains of green flag from Liberty Hall. These are the charred remains of a green Irish flag which Molly O’Reilly, a young teenager, raised over Liberty Hall in Dublin on Easter Sunday 1916. Molly was a member of the Irish Citizen Army (ICA), which was based at Liberty Hall and had been asked by the leader of the Irish Citizen Army, James Connolly, to raise the flag. During the fighting of Easter week, the flag (which originally had an Irish harp applied as centerpiece) got charred and tore.

Molly was also running messages between the GPO and Dublin City Hall during the Easter Rising. She survived the Rising and later took an active part in the Irish War of Independence and the Civil War as a supporter of the anti-Treaty side.
